# Swapping Crypto

Swapping cryptocurrency, whether within a *liquidity pool* inside DeFi, or peer-to-peer, is considered a disposal. Just as you trade crypto-for-crypto, swapping crypto carries the same rules and **should** be considered a disposal by SARS.
