Ensuring that all of your assets are correctly mapped is crucial because it allows Recap to retrieve accurate prices for each specific asset and therefore make accurate tax calculations.

It is also a great idea to tackle this first as incorrectly identified assets can trigger other issues such as Failed to Value errors or Missing Acquisitions.

Start by checking and correcting any Unidentified Assets warnings. You can do this by reviewing each account card shown on the Accounts screen. For detailed instructions on this, refer to our .

Next, carefully verify the mapping of each asset within every account card to ensure the correct token is displayed. To do so, click on each account card in turn and navigate to the Asset Identification tab to check each asset.

Changing the asset mapping

For custom accounts

You can modify the asset mapping by clicking the blue Edit button to the right of the asset. Then, click the ‘Select a currency’ dropdown box that appears. Search for the correct asset by typing its name or its asset code. Once you’ve selected the correct asset, click the blue Save text on the right. Repeat these steps for every asset that needs to be amended.

For connected accounts

You’ll need to contact us via in-app support to report any incorrect mappings for connected accounts. We’ll work to fix these issues as quickly as possible.

If you cannot find the correct asset in the dropdown box, it may need to be added to the Recap database. In this case, fill in the or contact support through the in-app chat, and we’ll add the asset as soon as possible.
